POG in the Community
Inn From The Cold
“Holy Spirit School is a Catholic Community of Caring school who believes strongly in sharing our blessings with those less fortunate. In keeping with this philosophy, our school community raises funds for several different charities throughout the year. Each year at Christmas, our community puts together 15 backpacks for needy children in the Cochrane and Calgary area. These backpacks are given to the Inn from the Cold Organization who distributes them to those in need. We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to POG Consulting for their generous donation of $500.00 in helping us with this worthy cause. POG Consulting has joined us in our backpack campaign for the last three years. Their generosity has helped to support many needy children in our community and we greatly appreciate their support.”

Calgary Interfaith Food Bank
“The Calgary Interfaith Food Bank depends on donations to distribute food hampers across the city. Hampers contain a week’s worth of groceries and are delivered primarily to the “working poor.” Hampers also exist for emergencies, the homeless, and households with babies. This year at POG’s Christmas party we decided to donate to the Calgary Inter-Faith Food Bank. Christmas can be a wonderful time for sharing and giving and it is easy to get caught up in the excitement. However, they’re many people who go without even their basic needs. That is why we decided instead of exchanging gifts, employees were asked to bring food donations to the Christmas party. We raised a substantial amount of food donations, far exceeding what we thought we would raise being such a small company. Thank you to everyone who donating to such a wonderful cause.”

Calgary Drop In & Rehab Centre
“Sometimes I feel incredibly grateful for all the things in my life and want to share that gratitude with others. Raising $1,500 for the Drop In Center to feed the Calgary homeless for one dinner is my contribution. The money is used for a full meal and 15 volunteers are assisting in serving the dinner. Volunteering to assist those who need a helping hand does put everything into perspective.”

Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF)
“I am a devoted animal lover! Having a dog myself, I understand the importance of teaching people about responsible pet ownership. I wanted to support a cause that is dedicated to the humane treatment, compassion and respect for all dogs and cats. I am running in the Scotiabank Calgary Half Marathon to support such an amazing company. My husband and I raised $950!”

Canadian Blood Services
“My husband and I have been donating blood since September 2009. There is a need for blood in our community. Approximately every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. I donate blood because someday I might be the one needing it.”
